Can't embed excel or pdf on page

I can upload a file onto a page but after publishing the page, if I try to then use the Office Excel or PDF macro, after selecting the page and the excel (or pdf), nothing happens.  I can't insert / save the macro, I can't even see a preview.  Any suggestions?

Just to make sure that we are on the same page, I would like to know if this is happening when you add the PDF or Excel on a page and then try to add these files on a macro on another page.

If that's the case, both issues were reported as a bug:

• Office Excel macro doesn't work with non-current pages
• Can't insert pdf attachment in pdf macro

Please, read the description of each bug to make sure that it's the same issue. If so, click on "This affects my team" and also watch to receive updates.

If it's not, please, let us know more details about the steps you are following.
