The Atlassian Companion App is a HUGE click-saver and time-saver but mysteriously stopped working. I now only get the "download the app" message.
We are using the corporate standard Confluence Cloud 1000.0.0-da105be110ec on Google Chrome Version 87.0.4280.66 (Official Build) (32-bit).
I was sporadically receiving an alert message about the System Clock being out-of-sync and that the Companion App may have trouble communicating with other Atlassian apps. Our IT helpdesk techs confirmed my laptop is indeed syncing to the Windows time server.
IT helpdesk also reinstalled the Companion App with local Admin privileges but to no avail.

Just clear cache & data from your browser and re-log into your account!
I think something has overloaded the browser!
