Approvals not updating on copy/pasted Section Approvals

We used copy/paste to insert Section approvals on multiple Confluence pages. Notifications were generated to the approvers. But when they approved the section, the pending status did not change, even though a comment was generated for the page stating that the approver had approved it. Is this a bug?
