Hi guys,
My company is tossing about the idea of using Confluence as our document management system to write and store our SOP documents. Is anyone currently using Confluence in this manner and if so, can you share your thoughts in the system? Pro? Cons?
I would appreciate your input.
Thanks
Confluence works well as a DMS for collaboration and search, but native gaps usually show up around lifecycle control, approval evidence, and controlled publishing.
Workflows for Confluence on the Marketplace, adds those layers on top of standard Confluence, for a fraction of the stress of doing it natively:

Hi @MB
It really depends on what your drivers are and what requirements you have. Confluence out of the box is a great tool to collaborate on producing content and may provide what you require.
However if you need to exercise a greater level of control, then you will probably need to consider one or more apps from the Atlassian Marketplace to extend the capability of Confluence. A great place to start would be https://marketplace.atlassian.com/categories/document-management
Keep in mind that you can try both Confluence and the marketplace apps for free, so perhaps you can jump in and try a few things!
Good luck!
