Version: Confluence Data Center 9.2.12
Users create their own pages within our space and also can remove them. The removed pages get placed in the bin and can be restored by the space admin. So users cannot remove their own stuff permanently.
Question: Is there a way/setting to allow members to remove their stuff permanently?
Already tried finding a solution within the permission tab but didn't find anything specifically for the permanent removal/deletion of pages for users.
Unfortunately, by default, the ability to Purge or permanently delete items from the trash/bin is restricted to Space Admins or Confluence Admins. You will need to request Space Admins to may be schedule a purge through API or manually. But the users will definitely need to contact the Space Admins for this.
Just out of curiosity, what is the issue users are complaining about the item being in Trash still?
Hope this is helpful!
Hey @Mert Seftali ,
As you've noticed, only space admins can purge/permanently delete items in the trask > official article here: Delete or Restore a Page
On DC, you should be able to set retention rules so items in trash are automatically deleted after a specific period, but I haven't worked on Confluence DC that much to know more than it says in the docs.
But I'm wondering, what's the actual problem you're having with the current configuration? I mean, why is it that important to have an option for users to permanently delete content? I usually saw other way around, and questions on whether the content can be restored 😄
Cheers,
Tobi
