I am using confluence free version. This is regarding adding users:
- I am not able to add a user on a particular project and they ask me to add the user through admin consol.
While I add the user through admins console, the user gets access to my Jira and confluence products on the site. That means, he/she will be able to access any project across my Jira and Confluence irrespective if he/she is part of a project or not.
So in the free version, we do not have an option to add users access to the only required project.
Is my understanding right? Could someone confirm or correct me, please?
Hello @Atlassian DNT,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
In Jira Cloud Free, project permissions are not available. Anyone added to Jira Software will be a project administrator.
Project permissions, roles, and issue-level security aren't customizable in Jira Core and Software Free. If your site has always been on a Free plan, everyone with access to Jira Software is an admin for all Jira Software projects, and the same goes for Jira Core.
With this said, when adding a user to Jira Software default group, they will be able to access and manage any project in Jira.
If you don't want them to access Confluence, you can just remove them from the confluence-users group. You can also select this option when inviting them to the site by unchecking Confluence or Jira Software.
If you have any other questions regarding this matter, please let us know.
Regards,
Angélica
