Add macro to Markdown

Hi 

I have a markdown file that is generated by fierflies.ai.  I want to add this markdown to a Confluence Page, which I have figured out how to do with copy and paste, but I would like to be efficient and add macros to the mark down before and Action Items pase it. specifically the Action Items Macro and the Decision Macro.  

Is there a way to indicate a line as an action item or decision?  I have looked at the a few search and tried to use - [ ] and [ ] but it is not being picked up.

Any advice?

I think what is happening here is that the editor is automatically picking up the - as a bullet point and the not considering the [ ] so the markdown - [ ] Tast one is becoming
