Add Macro to Display Page Permissions in Confluence Cloud

Currently, Confluence Cloud allows viewing and editing permissions via the page restrictions menu, but there is no way to embed or display these permissions directly within the page content. This makes it harder for collaborators to quickly see who can view or edit the page without leaving the content.

Proposed Enhancement:
Introduce a "Page Permissions" macro that can be inserted into any Confluence page. When rendered, the macro would:

• Display the current view and edit permissions for the page.
• Show whether the page is restricted, inherited from parent, or public.
• Optionally list specific users and groups with access.
• Update dynamically if permissions change.

Benefits:

• Improves transparency for team members.
• Reduces confusion about access rights.
• Saves time by avoiding extra clicks to check restrictions.
• Useful for compliance, onboarding, and documentation workflows.

Example Use Cases:

• Project documentation where access rules are critical.
• Knowledge base articles with tiered access.
• Compliance-controlled content requiring visible permission info.

Since this is a user community it is not the best method for submitting the a feature request to Atlassian. 

Within Confluence under the Help button (near your avatar in the upper right corner) you will find a Provide Feedback option. Feedback provided in that manner goes straight to Atlassian.

Hi Marc,

Just wanted let you know that we have a very similar use case at my company, albeit currently on a data center instance. We ended up creating a custom macro displaying sort of a permission summary at the top of particularly sensitive pages to make it easier to ensure that only the right people have access.

In theory, it should be possible to implement a custom forge macro with the same functionality for Confluence Cloud.
