Week 1️⃣ of Skip the Blank Page Month: Do a Live First Look with Rob Hean

It’s WEEK 1️⃣ OF SKIP THE BLANK PAGE MONTH: March 4 challenge!

Given Skip the Blank Page month just started this week, we know that creating and editing content with Rovo may still be new to a lot of folks.

So, we’ve asked the one and only @Rob Hean  to walk us through a quick 9-min first look of using Rovo to create and edit content in Confluence! Not only will Rob showcase real use cases, but you’ll also be able to ask him + Atlassian PMs live questions via chat.

Details below!

✨Watch live on March 4th at 8:45am PST (or watch the recording)

Click this link to watch Rob’s first look video on Youtube, which will be unveiled on Wednesday, March 4th at 8:45am PST. Join live to ask questions via chat, or catch the recording after.

💡Share your learnings

After watching the video, share your favorite learning, what you want to see next, or what you plan to create with Rovo in a ⬇️ comment below! Participants will be entered into a random drawing to get exclusive Skip the Blank Page swag.

Even better, this is just the FIRST of a few things we’re partnering with Rob on this month:

  • Watch his first look video going live tomorrow
  • Keep an eye out for next week’s deeper dive video with Aya, Confluence Product Manager
  • Register for his live learning workshop on March 19th - Each registrant will receive their own demo site and walk through exercises together, so make sure to register by March 13th so we can set up your site!

I got to see how easy it is to have Rovo create a whiteboard, and I got some help on how to prompt Rovo to create a process flow diagram on a whiteboard from procedures on a page.

My favorite learning from this video was seeing Rovo generate a visual space map from an existing Confluence space. The way it analyzes pages, templates, and relationships and turns them into a structured whiteboard makes it much easier to understand how content is organized.

I also liked how it suggested practical improvements like adding a README page, label documentation, and a table of contents for key docs. I’m curious to try this on one of our larger spaces to quickly identify gaps and cleanup opportunities.

The ability to use Rovo wherever, whether it's in a page, whiteboard, or database. It's contextual awareness and ability to not only start with a draft but also dive deeper into specific details is a great step forward.

We do use Rovo a lot (especially for creating new pages, live docs, and whiteboards), but I didn't have a chance to try it with databases. So it was really cool to see an actual example of how it creates new and interacts with existing databases 🧠💡

It was a great session, @Rob Hean. I really liked how Rovo can handle so many functions, making our work much easier. Seeing it work seamlessly with existing data was especially impressive.

Really enjoyed this walkthrough! And it's really  nice session

Seeing how quickly Rovo can generate and refine content in Confluence is impressive.

As an Atlassian Org Admin, I’m excited to use it for drafting change documentation, demo notes, and quick whiteboards before presenting new features to leadership. I really like the whiteboard visuals automatically created with rovo just giving simple prompt.

Looking forward to exploring more use cases during Skip the Blank Page month!

Here my favorite learning was how Rovo can turn an existing space into a structured project plan. The part where it generated a task database with phases, owners, and due dates was especially interesting. It feels like a practical way to move from “understanding the space” to actually improving it.
I would love to try this on an older Confluence space to identify cleanup tasks and organize them into a simple roadmap.

As a fan of visuals, I love Whiteboards (would love a presentation mode even more 🤩) and it's absolutely impressive how quickly and thoroughly Rovo can create them with the information at hand!

This is way cool!! I stumbled on this during a session last week as well creating some feature grooming documents for my team.  The live creation page with the Rovo chat on the right came up, and I was like "oooh, this is different...!"

This new feature is very fun to work with.  It's like Rovo is an active partner that you are co-creating with.

I'm most excited to try this out on creating databases.  Previously Rovo could not create or interact with content in a database, and it honestly was a bit of a bummer... so I'm stoked to see it works now!

I can see this being applied very well to creating and managing UATs - both building out the content and helping to manage it along the way.

Curious to test this out and see what the interaction with Jira will be like...!  Will I be able to make a database, then create work items from the rows, and show a live status of items in the table...?

Time to find out!   Cheers!

Love it!! I also used Rovo to create some Whiteboards for my company and it helped me with the fear of blank page that we talk about here! I really would like to see what Rovo can do more!!
I love the fact that it gives contest to the things it creates!!

Glad folks liked the first look!

@Devin Egger - That was a big step for me as well! Having Rovo IN a database will make things a lot easier... would love to hear how you end up using it!

@Benedetta De Martino - Getting over the mental hurdle of "ohh, I don't know what type" has been REALLY useful for me. Even if there's only a little bit of push it helps me get started.

@Anamika Soni - I currently have to do this manually... it's a good exercise since I have to look at everything, but it takes a LOT of time to do manually!

@Rob Hean That makes sense! Reviewing everything manually definitely gives a deeper understanding of the space. I’m curious to see how accurate Rovo’s generated map would be compared to a manual review. It could be a great starting point before doing a deeper cleanup.

We don't use Databases in Confluence well, so seeing how we can create them and Whiteboards with Rovo has really given me some great ideas for use cases!

Very inspiring video!

Now exploring this workflow:

  1. Initial ideas in Confluence
  2. Brainstorm in a whiteboard (maps, etc.)
  3. Automate Jira tickets/Confluence tasks via Rovo.
  4. Let Rovo sync the whiteboard with Jira refs + real-time status to close the loop.

Still exploring where Rovo Databases fit best in this flow.
Perhaps for high-level tracking ?

I recently used Rovo to create a whiteboard and reorganize my sticky notes. It was so useful as a thought partner and SO much faster than me creating over 100 stickies.

@Anamika Soni - Honestly my preference is to do it manually... this both gets me the map, but also helps me learn more about the setup since I have to look at everything... that said, I rarely have time to do it all!

@Amanda Barber - great use case! "I heard you liked Rovo, so I put some Rovo in your Rovo" :D

@Blerine Muliqi - it is, right?
