Org admins: Gain insights into how your org is using Rovo, Rovo Dev & other Atlassian apps

Hi Admin community,

We know that driving successful AI adoption starts with visibility and control. This is why we’re introducing the Platform usage dashboard in Atlassian Administration—the first milestone in providing you with a centralized hub to manage usage-based Atlassian apps.

Track usage trends and spot early adoption signals

With this new dashboard, you can view and track your organization’s usage for Rovo, Rovo Dev, and other usage-based Atlassian apps such as Bitbucket. As Rovo becomes available to all Atlassian Cloud customers and Rovo Dev enters general availability, we want to ensure you have the tools to monitor usage and better understand how teams use AI.

Your subscription determines which usage types you can monitor in the dashboard, as well as the allowances or allocations included for each.

Control usage by setting extra usage limits

In addition to helping admins get a better understanding of usage, we’re continuously expanding usage control capabilities.

For Rovo Dev Standard, once a user reaches their allocated credit limit, additional usage is charged at $0.01 per credit. To prevent service disruptions, a default extra allowance of 2,000 Rovo Dev credits per user per month is auto-enabled. Admins can disable this or set custom limits and controls per site in the dashboard

Who’s this available for?

Organization admins with centralized and original user management.

Where can you find it?

Go to Atlassian Administration → Select your organization if you have more than one → Then go to Insights Platform usage.

What’s next: empowering you to drive effective and data-driven AI adoption

We recognize that driving AI adoption and preparing your teams for success requires more than visibility and control. Therefore, we are building a centralized usage management hub and enhancing admin capabilities.

Explore four key roadmap capabilities that will help you manage usage-based Atlassian apps and make data-driven decisions:

1. Usage tracking & visibility: Get a clearer picture of how AI is used across your organization. Soon, you’ll be able to monitor usage at the user and feature level, view historic usage across different time periods, and drill into event-level data with the option to export insights for deeper analysis.

2. Usage controls & access management: Shape how AI is adopted to fit your business. Set usage limits, manage access, and allocate credits to the areas that matter most so adoption stays aligned with your organization’s goals.

3. Notifications: You’ll get notified when your organization is nearing or exceeding its allowance, so you can stay informed and take proactive actions as your organization scales AI adoption.

4. Forecasting & estimation: Use predictive insights to forecast usage trends, anticipate demand, and make sure your AI investment matches your organization’s needs. These upcoming capabilities are all part of our ongoing effort to give you the visibility, control, and insights you need to plan and drive AI adoption with confidence.

What is Platform usage?

Reminder: Atlassian will not immediately invoice you for exceeding current Rovo limits. We're committed to providing advanced notice (approximately 90 days) before extra usage for Rovo credits and indexed objects becomes billable.

We want to hear from you!

We'd love to hear your feedback. Feel free to comment on this post.

Is this available for all? I don't see this view on our end.

@Joan Kuhrmann, When are you expecting the rollout of Platform usage? Similar to @Ryan Boyd, we also don't see any data on our end.

This is one of the most requested and anticipated features of Atlassia,n and we have been waiting for this feature for a long time. It would be really good to know the dates or roadmap plan for the upcoming features as well

Hi @Ryan Boyd and @Tushar Gohel
Rollout of the usage dashboard showing Rovo credits and indexed objects has started. Rollout to SMBs in November/early December, followed by Enterprise customers early/mid December.

Appreciate this push toward clear usage visibility, in concert with billing of course. Monitoring is going to help us guide adoption without flying blind, and adoption is the real goal here.

One thing we’re seeing: part of healthy adoption is keeping indexed objects and Rovo credit usage from ballooning due to stale or low‑value content. When routine automated content hygiene isn't happening, the corporate memory grows unchecked. Then the signals get noisy, costs creep up faster than they should, and people trust the resulting systems less. To help with this, we built Content Retention Manager at Opus Guard to set and automate lifecycle rules, archive/clean old expired content, and keep indexes (and backup object storage!) leaner so credits are spent on relevant data. Plus, you get easier compliance with your information governance programs as a benefit!

Pairing that kind of hygiene with the new dashboard feels like the right combo: grow adoption thoughtfully, keep the data fresh, and reduce waste.
