If I add my company's IP as a whitelisted address does this also prevent accessing the configuration/settings pages? I want to be sure we won't get locked out of the account if the companies internet connection goes down.

Thanks

Chris

Hello Chris,

When adding whitelist IP addresses, this will control all access to the product itself. Meaning, users while outside the whitelisted IP address will be presented with a message stating you don’t have access and as to why.

For the scenario you explained, if your sites internet connection is lost and that is the only whitelisted IP then any people attempting to connect via a secondary connection that is not whitelisted will be prevented from accessing the product. In this case, it would be suggested to have a contingency plan in place which also covers additionals IPs which may access the product. More about whitelisting IPs may be found at Control access to your private content | Whitelisting IP addresses.

I hope this proves helpful and you’re able to control access while allowing for contingency.
