This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Clone a repository

Why does my terminal window ask for a password for "myname"@bitbucket.org when I paste the https command to clone the repository, but my bitbucket password doesn't work?  What other password would there be?

Does it literally say @bitbucket.org?  What is the URL you're pasting?  If you're using Bitbucket Server, I'd expect the URL to be your own servername and domain name, not bit bitbucket.org . . .
