I am unable to log into bitbucket even though I can log into the dashboard at https://id.atlassian.com/

I have followed the steps here: https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/kb/we-couldnt-log-you-in-error-message/. I've tried logging in via chrome, chrome incognito, and firefox.

I used bitbucket on a project many years ago. I believe this is an account related problem related to inactivity. I'd like to avoid creating a new account with a new email, if possible.

This is the error message I get when clicking on the the bitbucket link in the dashboard or attempting the login flow directly from bitbucket.org:

Please help.

Hi @peter

Thanks for reaching out to the community.

Indeed, your account is marked as a dormant account due to not logging in to Bitbucket.org for a long period of time.

I went ahead and reactivated your account on my end.

You should be able to log in now.

Regards,

Hello @peter

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

I have flagged your post to raise it to the attention of Atlassian team members. You should hear back from them within 2 business days.

If you have not accessed Bitbucket for years then it is likely your account was deactivated. Only Atlassian will be able to reactivate it if that was the case.
