Transfering Repo hangs

I've started to transfer a repository from this workspace to other workspace in my account 2 days ago and the transfer is still "in progress" even I guess it should happen almost instantly.

Thanks in advance for helping to resolve this issue.

Hello @volynsm1 

When a repository transfer starts, Bitbucket sends an approval link to the destination workspace admin.

To clear a stuck transfer, verify who that admin is, cancel the current attempt, and restart the process. Just coordinate with the admin ahead of time so they can watch their inbox and click the link to accept it.

Keep me posted on how it goes!

If that won't be working, we must escalate that further.

Hello! But I am the admin of the destination workspace, and I cannot find any approval emails from Bitbucket. From which account does the approval email come? And what is the content I need to look for to be sure it is not in a spam folder? How can I check to which exact email an approval was sent?

In Account settings, I do see my email address but cannot find any approval emails

And one more detail. I have searched my email for the name of the repository in transfer and found only one old transfer request from 3 years ago

Hey @volynsm1,

When you initiate a repository transfer following the instructions in Transfer repository ownership, as the admin of both workspaces, you should ideally receive an email from notifications-noreply@bitbucket.org with the message titled as below:

  • Fwd: [Bitbucket] Repository transfer request: SOURCE_WORKSPACE/SOURCE_REPO

In the title above, replace SOURCE_WORKSPACE and SOURCE_REPO with the relevant names.

Once you receive this email, you'll have the option to accept or reject the transfer from the destination workspace. 

If you didn't get this email, the transfer will never proceed. 

Can you please try the following:

  • Cancel your existing transfer from the source workspace
  • Setup a new transfer, and take note of the time you've initiated it
  • Check your email inbox for an email with the message similar to the one I've provided above
  • If you don't receive this email, please let me know here by providing the time that you noted down and the timezone you're in

Hi Vipul!

I canceled the old transfer and initialized a new one at about 11:30-12 noon Eastern Time, but never received any transfer ownership email. Can we verify to which email address it was sent to? Or let me know if I should do anything else on my end. Also, just FYI, when I transferred repos in 2023 I did receive a transfer approval email.
