Remote Project Deleted & Recreated, now can't push to remote from SourceTree

RDGInfoSys March 31, 2025

A while back, we had to delete the online repository. We've since recreated it and want to push the local git archive up to the empty remote, but get the error:

Pushing to bitbucket.org:RDGInfoSys/flywire-projects.git
git clone git@bitbucket.org: Permission denied (publickey).
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

We have followed all the troubleshooting documentation on Atlassian's site, created keys inside SourceTree, the keys appear to be in sync, but we still get that error.

Well, it's "semi-fixed":

  1. I delete the repository on Bitbucket
  2. Used the "Push to Remote…" option in the macOS SourceTree Repository Browser

It pushed most of the local repository up. I'm still missing the last dozen or so commits. Also, I now have separate 'origin' (has all the commits) and Project_Name (missing the last dozen or so) remotes.  BUT, 'origin' is not connected to anything.

Would the best solution be to move the missing commits from 'origin' to Project_Name?  If so, how?

I hate to say it, but I did a quit the app, log out of the website, came back in and was able to merge the "missing" commits into master, and all now seems squared away.
