Not receiving invitation email for Bitbucket

Hi,

I'd like to invite a user dmytro at superhuit dot ch to a repository, but he's not receiving any invitation emails for the last 36h. Can you please help us on that ?

Welcome to the community…

If users in your organization are not receiving an invitation to join a Bitbucket Cloud workspace, it is due to their email preferences. We observe that the user has unsubscribed from receiving product invitations from Bitbucket Cloud.

To mitigate the issue, I request you follow the below steps

Step 1: Please ask the users to Check Email Preferences by :

  • Log in to Atlassian Account:

    • Go to id.atlassian.com.

    • Sign in with your email address (If not already signed in).

  • Access Account Settings:

    • Click on your avatar in the top right corner.

    • Select Account settings from the dropdown menu

  • Navigate to Email Preferences:

    • Click on the Email tab within your account settings.

    • Click the link to the email preferences center.

  • Adjust Email Preferences:

  • In the Product Surveys and Invitations section, ensure that Product Invitations is selected.

Step 2 : Request a New Invitation
Please note that subscribing to invitations or changes to Email preferences will not trigger the email to come through that were triggered prior to the changes to the Email preference settings.
To trigger a new invitation, could you please check the steps below :

  • The workspace administrator will have to:

  •  Cancel the current invitation by navigating to Workspace Settings > User Groups, selecting the Required group, and expanding the Pending invitations

  • Then, clicking Cancel Invitation to completely remove it from processing

  • Once the invitation has been cancelled, you will then need to click Add Members in the top-right and insert the user's email address to properly resend the invitation

Hi Charlotte, this happens sometimes with Bitbucket invitations. A few things to check:

Spam or Promotions folder — sometimes invitation emails get filtered out.

Correct email address — double-check there are no typos in the email you invited.

Resend the invite — go to the repository settings → Users and groups → Pending invitations, and try resending it.

Email delays — occasionally Bitbucket emails are delayed up to 24–48 hours, especially on weekends or holidays.

If none of these work, reaching out to Bitbucket Support is the best bet — they can check if the invite is stuck on their end.

The email address of that user is most likely on the supression list from Atlassian's side. I have requested for Atlassian's support engineer help. They will reach out to your promptly.
