New branch is not creating from master branch

Hi,

I am starting with free user account, i am not able to create a new branch from master branch in my repo ?

Hello Srujana and welcome to the Community!

Congratulations on starting your journey with Bitbucket.

When you create a Bitbucket repository for the first time, all you have is a repository (no master branch). In order to create a master branch you must first commit something to the repository. Once your initial commit is created, you will then have a master branch.

Please let us know if you're able to commit something and from there see your master branch which you can create a new branch from.
