ekontarzhy November 27, 2023

Hi,

I want to import a repository from the server-based BitBucket to a cloud instance, but getting a 'Not a valid URL' error.

Thanks,

Evgeny

G'day!

To migrate using the repository importer, your Bitbucket Server domain needs to be publicly accessible. If it's not publicly accessible Bitbucket Cloud will not be able to access your Bitbucket Server to perform the import.

I would also suggest whitelisting our IP addresses for Bitbucket Cloud on your firewall:

Alternatively, you can also use the BCMA tool to migrate (note: your server will need to be version 7.0+):

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Cheers!

Hi Ben,

IP addresses are whitelisted and traffic is allowed on our firewall, however, there is no traffic seen for altssh.bitbucket.org.

We are seeing traffic is decrypted for URL bam.nr-data.net.

Is bam.nr-data.net related to the BitBucket service and do we need to remove decryption for it too?

Thanks,

Evgeny

Hey Evgeny,

The altssh.bitbucket.org domain is only used when SSH traffic is passed through alternate ports (in cases where internal security policies prevent port 22 from being opened) - more info here:

As for bam.nr-data.net - this is used for collecting site loading metrics and is used by all of our products, I would suggest allowing this as well and trying again.

Please let me know how this goes.

Cheers!

Hi Ben,

The issue with bam.nr-data.net/ is also resolved... We don't see any block on the firewall for URLs contacting the keyword bitbucket but still getting the same error.

Thanks,

Evgeny

Hey Evgeny,

I've opened a support ticket on your behalf as I would need you to share sensitive data such as screenshots that would not be appropriate for a public forum.

Please check your email inbox for further correspondence.

Cheers!
