Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out because I've lost access to my Bitbucket repositories and I'm hoping someone from the Atlassian team or the community can help.

My free workspaces (AlexkidUA and Alexkid88) were deactivated on January 15, 2026 due to inactivity, and unfortunately I missed the reactivation deadline of May 15, 2026. I was not aware that the deadline had passed until I tried to access my repositories recently.

The repositories contained the latest production build of my project. I do have a local copy of the source code, but the most recent and up-to-date version was only on Bitbucket.

I understand that this situation was caused by my own inactivity, and I take full responsibility for that. However, I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance on whether there is any possibility of recovering the data, even partially.

Is there any way to:
- Restore or reactivate the workspaces?
- Access a backup or archive of the repositories?
- Get in touch with someone from the Atlassian/Bitbucket team who could assist?

Thank you in advance for any help. I really appreciate the community's support.

Best regards,
Alexander

Hey @Александр Чесноков ,

Can you try accessing the following link https://bitbucket.org/account/workspaces/deactivated to see if the workspace is potentially listed there?

Note that, as per the following article/announcement, on the 15th of May, all inactive (free) workspaces are/were scheduled for deletion:

What happens after deletion? Will workspace names be reused or repos be archived somewhere?

Once a free unused workspace is deleted after May 15, 2026, all repositories and content in that workspace are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

The Workspace ID is not released for 30 days after deletion. Please refer to Delete a Bitbucket Cloud workspace | Bitbucket Cloud | Atlassian Support.

After 30 days, the workspace ID is released and can be un-restrictively re-used on a first claim basis.

Basically, if the workspace is not listed on the link at the top of this reply, it would mean it's deleted for good :/

Cheers,
Tobi

As for additional assistance, I've asked someone from the forum support team just to take a look at this and confirm if what I've stated above is correct.

Hello @Александр Чесноков

I see that both workspaces are now active. I assume you followed the recommendation provided by @Tomislav Tobijas.

If you're experiencing issues, please let us know.

Thanks.
