I cannot log into my bitbucket account -- I previously worked with this company and set the account up with two factor authentication. I left the company and only recently came back so I no longer have access to the two factor authentication codes or SSH key recovery codes for this account. The bitbucket manager at my work cannot assist me with this either. Any recommendations?

Hi Rebecca, welcome to the Community!

Since your Bitbucket manager said he won't be able to help you with that, I'll assume they're not using Atlassian Access. Please double check with them as this is a new service we launched and it would allow him to disable Two factor authentication from your account, if they're already using it. For more information you can see Two-step verification.

If you don't have access to any of the recovery options we provide (recovery codes, SSH key or Authentication app), I'm afraid you won't be able to gain access to this Bitbucket account. This is explained at Retrieve codes. You will need to create a new Bitbucket account and ask your colleagues to grant you access to the repositories again.

Let us know if any of the above is not clear or if you have any other questions, we'll be happy to assist.

Best regards,

Ana
