An employee deleted our main repository before leaving the company and from the laptop they were developing on. Is there anything I can do?
Hello @Brian Clinton
Hope you managed to restore your data…
To minimize data loss and recover from situations like accidental deletions, it’s essential to have a reliable backup of your Bitbucket environment, ideally with long-term retention. Thus, with a backup in place, you can restore your repositories, metadata, and related data even after unexpected incidents. This proactive approach ensures business continuity and safeguards your critical development assets.

Hey @Brian Clinton
Welcome to the community!
If the file was deleted locally, it cannot be recovered. However, if it exists on your Bitbucket workspace, we might be able to restore it, provided it was recently deleted. We need the repository URL to assist with the recovery. If you have a paid workspace, please submit a support ticket through our Support portal for assistance.

@Brian Clinton Welcome to the community!
I'm afraid, in the Atlassian bitbucket once you deleted the repo then its permenantely GONE and bitbucket does not support on restoration directly.
Offcourse, anyone from your team they have the local copy of the repo in their system, using which you need to recreate it on cloud.
Thank you
