Is it possible to pass input variables to child pipelines from triggers?

I know that within a step within a pipeline, when you trigger a child pipeline, you can specify input variables that are passed to the child. I am curious if it's possible to pass input variables to pipelines run via the new triggers section.

Input variables can only be passed to child pipelines from parent pipelines, there is no support for doing so when using triggers:
