Ever since the merger between Bitbucket accounts and Atlassian accounts, my two accounts were merged, and now I have to separately enter both of the TOTP tokens every time I log in. First the one I created when I merged my accounts, and then the one that was attached to the Atlassian account before the merge.

The settings page only appears to allow me to completely disable TOTP and then maybe re-enable it?

Hey @kode54

It seems you may still have two 2FA layers active simultaneously:

  1. Atlassian Account Two-Step Verification (MFA) — managed at id.atlassian.com

  2. Bitbucket Cloud Two-Step Verification (2SV) — managed in Bitbucket personal settings - https://bitbucket.org/account/settings/two-step-verification/manage

You can disable one of the two and keep only one active. You can disable the Bitbucket Cloud 2SV by navigating to https://bitbucket.org/account/settings/two-step-verification/manage and selecting 'Disable two-step verification'.

Let us know if you're having any trouble.

Hello and Welcome to Atlassian Community @kode54

Atlassian’s documented reset path for changing the authenticator app is also disable/re-enable, so that´s expected.

Enable two-step verification | Bitbucket Cloud | Atlassian Support

Manage two-step verification for your Atlassian account | Atlassian Support

Best,

Arek🤠
