I haven't logged in for a while now and I did reset my laptop as well, but I have saved my atlassian ID and password in my browsers password manager. When I try to log in via my atlassian ID, which is registered with an old university email address, which does not work anymore, I get the message that a verification code has been sent to my non-working email address.
I don't get that email with the verification code, nor do I get it on any of the secondary email addresses I had set up for the account (or other email identities?).
This was my personal account where I had the backup of my several university and pet projects, so I very much would like to be able to access them again.
I can still access the public repositories on my old account, I can not access, but most of my repos are private.
Please help!
The OTP challenge is sent to the primary email address that belongs to the associated Bitbucket Cloud account. This challenge email is triggered whenever an unrecognised device attempts to login to the account, or the geolocation of the device has changed. This is a mandatory security measure to protect user accounts which unfortunately cannot be bypassed.
If you no longer have access to the primary email account, you will need to create a new workspace and push any local backups that you have to this new workspace.
Kind Regards,
- Ben (Bitbucket Cloud Support)
@Norbert Sana I have escalated this to Atlassian. I am not sure that they will be able to do anything if you no longer have access to the email account and you are not on a paid plan. Is there anyway to get access to your old email for a short period of time by contacting the university?
