My repository is way too big. I fixed the issue locally but when i push to the repo i still get a warning saying that the repo is too big. When I clone the repo and look at the size then it is way smaller than it says on the repo settings. I think I need to run git gc on the repo. How can I do that?

G'day Edvin!

Welcome to the Bitbucket Cloud community! :)

GC needs to be performed on the server side, you may raise a community support ticket and one of our friendly team will execute the gc for you on our end.

I've just executed a gc and the repository has reduced from 3.9GB to 25MB - please check this on your end to confirm.

To combat high repository size usage, we will be rolling out a feature in the coming month to block commits that are over 100MB in size, this can be toggled off/on from Repository Settings.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hi Ben,

My repository requires a Git gc too !
https://bitbucket.org/vignesh_s_kannan/lyra_db_backup/src/master/

But i don't know how and where to create a request for it !

So, i am adding my request as a comment here on this post !

Can you help me out ?
And give me directions on where to make my requests in future ?

Thanks,
Vignesh
