Because Atlassian is going to use my data to train their AI, I'm trying to close all my atlassian account and products;
I managed to remove most of it, but only bitbucket part is remaining:
In bitbucket account settings, clicking delete account navigates me to id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/account-preferences,
clicking delete account there gives me the following error:
Your account can't be deleted because:
Visiting my.atlassian.com shows my Bitbucket (Cloud) subscription, using the manage subscriptions action; navigates me back to bitbucket.org/account/settings... getting be back to step 1...
so the question is... how to properly remove my account?
Hi @nobody
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
You might already know that you can disable the use of in‑app data as part of data contribution, as described here: https://www.atlassian.com/trust/ai/data-contribution/faqs#general
You’ll need to break the loop by deleting your Bitbucket workspace first. Right now, your Bitbucket workspace is still technically “active,” which makes you the primary administrator or billing contact for it—even on a free plan.
Once the workspace is fully deleted (this can take a few minutes), your account will no longer be flagged as a “technical contact” or “billing contact.” You can then go back to id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/account-preferences and successfully delete your Atlassian account without errors.
Logging in bitbucket, it greets me with the message:
so I believe I have no connected workspaces...
Regarding the AI:
Unfortunately, on the free plan there is nothing to manage;
At the company, we use premium, and at that tier, still metadata but also search queries and results will still be used, that can't be disabled unless you buy enterprise which is 800+ users...

Hi @nobody
I've deleted your Bitbucket Cloud user account from my end manually. Please note that this takes 30 days to process - so once this time has passed, you may then proceed to delete your Atlassian account:
