So i have 2 questions

1. How can i check if i have deployed V4 or v5 .i want to deploy v4 so i can have no concurrency limits to my limits.

2. For V5 i see concurrency limit which is 1 currently to my workspace.

is it like 1 step can run at a time though i setup multiple pods as under 1 runner

(or)

multiple jobs can be run when i setup multiple pods under 1 runner

Hi @Ram Rushendra nath Gulla

That is actually an interesting questions. I checked something myself, and according to the docuemntation

1. When you create the runner, the download URL contains the version. The version prints in the runner logs and in the step logs when you start the runner (see here https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/docs/configure-your-runner-in-bitbucket-pipelines-yml).

2. You can also check in the Bitbucket UI under Workspace Settings → Pipelines → Workspace Runners where runner versions are displayed

Regarding "concurrency limit = 1" mean with multiple pods: The concurrency limits are per-step, not per-job/pipeline:

So with concurrency limit = 1: Only 1 step can execute at a time across the entire workspace on V5 runners Even if you have 10 Kubernetes pods/runners, only 1 step runs at a time - the others wait in queue - so your assumption in Option A is correct.

Also please keep in mind that until June 3, 2026, the concurrency limit applies only to version 5 runners. And the maximum concurrent builds applies only to V5 runners, so V4 and earlier runners remain free until June 3, 2026 (monthly plans) or December 3, 2026 (annual plans). After those dates, only V5 runners will work, so I would suggest planning your runners for V5 already.

Rustem
