Hi,

After a hiatus I logged back into Bitbucket and noticed all my repos were gone.

I've already tried https://bitbucket.org/account/workspaces/deactivated with no joy.
I do worry because I see the same workspace twice, with 0 repos, yet a warning about >1GB used.

Can you please help me restore so them I can back them up locally ?

Hi @hm-backups ,

Was this repository perhaps stored in a Free Bitbucket workspace that had not been used for some time?

Atlassian recently carried out a cleanup of inactive Free workspaces. These workspaces were deactivated first, with May 15, 2026 set as the deadline for reactivation before permanent deletion.

You could potentially reach out to support via this channel: Atlassian Support: Pricing, Billing & Licensing > select something like Your Account > Reactivate subscription. đź‘€

Unfortunately, if the workspace and its repositories have already been permanently deleted, recovery may no longer be possible.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hi Tobi,

They were in a Free workspace.

I was completely unaware of such a deadline.
I checked my email and prior to my recent login / activity (July 23rd) I've received:

  • 1 bitbucket Welcome email on Tue, Apr 2, 2019
  • 1 Atlassian Verifiy email Tue, Apr 2, 2019

Luckily I did manage to use https://www.atlassian.com/company/contact/purchasing-licensing# and the project showed up again along with the many repositories it. (There are a few repos missing, however I suspect they might have been linked to a different account).

Thank you so much,
George
