Error trying to push folder into new repository

Deleted user March 22, 2018

Hi All

When I try to push my changes (goal was to take one folder/branch in a big repo and move it to its own repo) I get the following error:

E:\BitBucket\apps\EmailQ>git push -u origin master
error: src refspec master does not match any.
error: failed to push some refs to 'https://bitbucket.org/BusAppGroup/emailq'

Do you have a local branch named "master"? You should see it highlighted in `git branch`.

Doh!  I did not have a branch with that name... I thought since it was noted in BitBucket that was the reference to use.

Once I ran a  'git branch' I saw the branch name and it was populated with code and more importantly the history!
