Difference between teams and groups

dpetican March 21, 2018

I'm advising my client to setup their own bitbucket account because there are multiple companies working on different aspects of the project (Eg android app, esp8266 prog etc)  However, they don't have the interest, at least initially to create repositories and administer everything.  Do I want to create a group or team and/or a project.  They want me to do it.  Also, do group members have to have a bitbucket account like team members?  Thanks.

Hi! Bitbucket has 2 types of accounts: Individuals and Team accounts. I believe that in your case you might prefer creating a Team account, and then within that account create different projects for the different companies/projects that your client is working for, and groups to organize the different roles and permissions.

I'd recommend you to read Create and administer your team for more info. You can also read Group Team info Organize your team into user groups and Teams Frequently Asked Questions.

Let us know if you have any questions :)
