Hi all!
I've crawled over the existing community posts but haven't been able to find an answer to a question I have for BitBucket DataCentre.
My employer uses BitBucket and we have Slack integration enabled but, with hundreds of individual repo's within our Project area. It'd be tedious going into each repo to enable the webhooks for the Slack Integration over and over again.
Is it possible for us or the SysAdmin's to enable Slack integration as a default setting rather than on a per repo basis?
Warm regards;
Jonathon
I don't see a good way to do this, but it does look like the official (Atlassian maintained) and very new (first released in July 2019) Bitbucket Server for Slack (Official) plugin might result in overall fewer clicks-per-repo compared to the older, unofficial, and more popular Slack notifications plugin. Which Slack plugin are you using?
I suspect the official Atlassian plugin is only less popular because of its young age. Unlike the other one the Atlassian one is Data Center certified.
Might also be worth checking to see if the Repository Templates for Bitbucket plugin is able to pick up config from either of these other two plugins and apply it to newly created repositories - sometimes it works - and when it does that results in fewer clicks for you.
(Note: my company maintains a somewhat competing plugin - Control Freak - that takes a whole different approach to standardising repository/project config that would not help you in this particular scenario).
