Connecting Jira to existing BitBucket account

jonathanmsmith June 26, 2018

Hi

I'm trying to connect Jira to an existing BitBucket account, however, I get the following error:

I've tried using multiple accounts to complete the process but receive the same error each time.

Any ideas what the problem is or how it can be resolved.

Thanks
Jonathan

I'm not able to signup using our existing BitBucket URL.

So I would signup using a different URL - not sure if that would be an issue in regards to connecting the two accounts later?

I have a BitBucket URL - I dont have a Jira account yet.

I've tried adding that and thats when the error appears...

ahh..then first create Jira account or Sign up.

Once you successfully create/sign up to jira cloud account then try to connect wit bitbucket Cloud.

Thanks Yogesh

I don't see instructions for connecting Jira to an existing BitBucket account - the instructions I did follow are listed here:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/connect-bitbucket-cloud-to-jira-cloud-applications-814190686.html

I get to this point before I see the error message above:

Enter the URL for the Jira Software Cloud instance you want to connect with, such as https://teamsinspace.atlassian.net :

Yes, you need to provide the jira cloud URL to connect.

Hi Yogesh

Thanks for the quick response - sorry I should have been clearer.

We're looking to add Jira Cloud to an existing BitBucket Cloud account.

I dont think the links apply to this issue.

Thanks
