Hi,

I am trying to gain admin access to a Bitbucket cloud repository. The current admin has left the company, and our IT department has already deleted their account, making it impossible to use the 'recover password' option to access their account. I've submitted a support ticket (CA-3168606), but Bitbucket support recommended reaching out to the community for help.

Can anyone assist with resolving this issue?

Hi Deepthi,

There are two options here:

  1. The CA team are able to update you as the main billing/technical contact for that workspace if you are able to provide them with evidence that this should be the case - we can then invite you to that workspace as an admin (assuming you're referring to the workspaceID you raised this community ticket using).
  2. If you are unable to - we won't be able to confirm that you are the rightful owner of that content. Given our strict policies concerning the protection of user generated content - we would not be able to proceed in that instance. You will need to re-enable that users inbox and reset their password so you can regain access and invite yourself as an admin.

I'm unsure of the specifics, but you will need to reach out to the CA team for further information, otherwise - you'll need to re-enable the mailbox and reset the password.
