Cannot login to Bitbucket with JIRA integration

Shawn Zavoda
January 16, 2019

I have been doing the initial setup of Bitbucket on a local server.  I got to the point where it offers to integrate with Jira and use Jira users.  After that step, I was presented with a login screen.

Neither my Jira username and password nor my admin user I set up for Bitbucket will allow me to login in.

I cannot reset my password because email support has not yet been enabled.

Anything I can do?

Hi Shawn, welcome to the Community!

Seems like you were locked out. The instructions at Lockout recovery process will help you get back in.

If you are not locked out then you need to ensure that the Jira directory is connected and synced, as well as any directory you have connected to Jira. In case you need to re-visit the steps, they're listed at Connecting Bitbucket Server to Jira for user management.

If you're not using Jira’s internal user directory but are using LDAP to connect to Jira instead, and then using Jira to connect to Bitbucket, you should probably just connect LDAP to Bitbucket directly, instead of using Jira for user management.

Hope that helps!

Ana
