Dear all,

I can't see project avatar in the emails sent by my bitbucket server instance.

Avatar is correctly displayed in the web app.

If I get email source code to extract avatar URL, it works in the browser if I am connected.

If I am not connected, a default directory is displayed.

But nothing in the email.

Do you have any idea to resolve this issue?

Cheers,

Julien

Please find my answers below :

What version of bitbucket server is this?

5.11.1

Has this always been a problem?  Or did this start just recently?

Yes this always has been a problem.

Does this happen in different email clients?

It works in Outlook web mail, but not in Outlook for Windows. I can't test for others email clients.

I would be interested to see if you can look at the email original source, and see what the specific HTML tag is there that is used to try to render this image.

I have seen a similar case recently using Jira project avatars that a user was able to correct this issue by re-uploading the project avatars within the application, but I'm not sure if that would help here or not yet.
