When I try to login to Bitbucket I can't get through. I tried several scenarios:

  • I enter username / password
  • Then I was prompted 2FA
  • Then I was redirected and get another 2FA prompt
  • I enter my code and it tells me it is the wrong code

Then I disabled 2FA and tried again:

  • I enter username / password
  • Then I was also prompted with 2FA even though my account had it disabled

Now I am unable to login to Bitbucket at all. The weird thing is that I can access Confluence and Jira

Hey @basvdijk

Welcome to the community...

I see that 2FA is enabled for your account. This is Bitbucket specific and not applicable to other Atlassian products.

This is why you can log in Jira and Confluence and not Bitbucket.

To be able to Login to BitBucket, I would suggest you follow the page how-to-disable-reset-2fa-on-bitbucket-cloud-and-atlassian-account to reset the two-step verification settings on BitBucket.

As discussed on the page

  • After the 24-hour waiting period, you will receive a secondary email with the aforementioned one-time login link.
  • We observe that you requested the recovery Email 11 hours ago. You should receive the secondary Email with the login link soon.
  • Please note that the recovery link will expire in 24 hours
  • Follow the instructions within the email, and you should then be able to log in to your Bitbucket Cloud account with 2FA disabled

I hope this helps...

Best Regards
Shwetha
