Bitbucket cloud fails to install

Mark HIGGINS July 11, 2025

I am attempting to install the free version of Bit bucket and it fails.

Atlassian doesn't allow me to open a support ticket because its the free version?

Has anyone else had this issue?

I suspect that it may have been installed years ago, but its no longer on the list of products twe own.

Hi @Mark HIGGINS

What do you mean by 'install'?  The cloud version is more of a sign up than an install.  Do you mean installing data center into your own cloud instance?

Thanks Shawn for responding.

Yes, install shows my age :-)

I was attempting to create a workspace, and twice, it just hung, told me it was talking longer than usual, and would send me an email, and never did?

I suspect that someone (years ago) may have already created a workspace in the org, but its no longer available.

Cheers

Mark

Creating a BB Cloud workspace is like adding a product to your Atlassian organisation.

In admin.atlassian.com select your organisation, then select 'Products' and then 'Add Product'. Here. you can select Bitbucket as a "product" but it's actually a Workspace you're creating.

Hope that helps.

Thanks all,

It appears the workspace I wanted was already taken, and that caused the 'robots' to get hung up.

All good now
