Bitbucket Cloud and Jenkins OSS giving 500 status code on Webhooks

Bipin Guragain

Hello,

We are currently in migration phase of Atlassian on-prem to Cloud env. We are in the process of migrating Bitbucket to Cloud environment.

We use Jenkins OSS version and is currently at 2.462.1. The Bitbucket plugin we have is 241.v6d24a_57f9359. We are constantly getting 500 response on the Bitbucket Webhooks logs.

Any recommendations would really help here. Thank you all

Hi @Bipin Guragain ,

When you're looking at webhook logs, is there anything specific that could help you troubleshoot this?

  • Navigate to Repository settings > Webhooks > View requests.

  • Enable history if it isn't already active to record new logs.

  • Click View details on a failed request to see the exact Request Body Bitbucket sent and the Response Body your Jenkins server returned

You could also check if Jenkins is reachable from Bitbucket cloud IP ranges 👀

Apart from that, when you're looking at Jenkins logs, is there any additional info there?

Cheers,
Tobi

@Tomislav Tobijas Yes I am seeing the below responses when I checked the details on the webhooks.

When using webhook secrets, verify the HMAC signature by using the raw webhook otherwise the signatures will not match.

Copy as raw string

The error is there even without using any secrets on webhook config.

Hi @Bipin Guragain

You'll need to raise a support ticket for this - as we need to gain access to your environment and check your configuration as well as our internal logs:

If you encounter issues, please let me know your timezone and I will raise one on your behalf.

Cheers!
