Is this forum the best place for improvement requests? Does Atlassian staff read these? Or should I use the "Give Feedback" option in the Help menu in Bitbucket?
Both the in-product “Give feedback” option and the Atlassian Community forum are valid ways to submit feature requests, and Atlassian states in their blog post that they review all feedback from these channels and may turn it into tracked suggestions.
In practice, they serve slightly different purposes: use “Give feedback” when you have a concrete feature request, bug, or UX issue you want directly considered by the product team, since it feeds straight into their internal triage process. The Community forum is better for discussing ideas, gathering support, and seeing how others approach the same problem, though it’s less structured as an intake channel.
Overall, both are OK and monitored, and many users combine them.. submitting via “Give feedback” and sharing the idea in the Community to increase visibility and validation.
