Maybe I’m just making this harder than it needs to be. For the past few weeks I’ve been looking into attendance tracking software because our manual logs keep getting messy. During the search I came across Vertex HCM, but I’m still unsure if switching tools actually fixes the real problem or just adds another system to manage.
Has anyone gone through this and figured out what actually works?

If your manual process is already unclear or inconsistent, moving to a tool can definitely help, but only if the real issue is process discipline and ownership, not just where the data is stored. I would first simplify the attendance workflow, decide who updates it and when, and then see whether a tool is still needed. Otherwise, you may just replace one messy system with another.
