Hi there,

How can I control the access level of the default git user in BitBucket?

I am using ssh keys to authenticate our jenkins instance towards BitBucket. I want to limit write access to our master branch (making it read only for all users), but this makes it impossible to create new tags etc.

How can I allow the git (ssh key authenticated) user to write to the master branch, without everyone else can write to the same branch?

Hi Tue, do you know about branch permissions? Branch permissions allow you to control which users or groups can write or merge to any branch and create permissions for a specific branch pattern.

If you want to learn more, you can read Branch permissions and Using branch permissions.

Let us know if you have questions!

Cheers,

Ana

Hi Ana,

Thanks. I know of this, but this will not help me in this case.

I need to control the access rights for the git user. The default user used when performing a clone operation using a private key.

I want to permit "normal" users from changing the branch and our jenkins build server to write to our master branch (creating tags, branches etc).

How can I do that?
