I'm able to access other Atlassian products like Jira after inputing MFA though with Bitbucket it does prompt the 2nd step authentication and once I input the code it does not go through. Pops out an invalid code.
It's my notion that all atlassian products should use the same account more of SSO unless I'm wrong.
Quick assistance on this needed.
Hi @[deleted] and welcome to the community!
Just to give you some context, Bitbucket uses Atlassian accounts (the ones for https://id.atlassian.com/) for authentication. At the moment, it is possible to set up 2FA both for a Bitbucket account (via https://bitbucket.org/account/settings/ssh-keys/) and also for an Atlassian account (via https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security). Bitbucket already had an existing 2FA implementation before we integrated with Atlassian accounts, we do have a feature request to unify them: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-19471.
If you enable 2FA for both, you'll get asked for a 2FA code twice when logging in to Bitbucket, once for the Atlassian account and once for the Bitbucket account. There should be two separate entries/accounts in your authenticator app, one for the Atlassian account and one for the Bitbucket account.
I can see in our system that you requested a 2FA recovery email and Bitbucket 2FA is now disabled for your account. Are you able to access it now?
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Theodora
