We're excited to announce that Bitbucket Packages now supports Maven and npm alongside the existing container registry. You can now publish and install Java and JavaScript packages right where your code and pipelines already live and no more juggling separate tools, permissions, or billing.
Here's what's included:
Publish and install Maven and npm packages using your existing tools
Permissions are inherited automatically from your repository
Browse, inspect, and manage all your packages from the Packages tab at the workspace, project, or repository level
Storage and network limits are shared across all package types (containers, Maven, and npm) under the same plan
If you're already using Bitbucket Packages for container images, Maven and npm are ready to go in your repository's Packages tab. Check out our Maven support documentation and npm support documentation for step-by-step setup guides.
What's coming next?
We're actively working on PyPI and NuGet registries, along with immutable tags and per package type usage breakdowns. Your feedback has shaped every expansion so far, and we want to keep that going.
Let us know how Maven and npm support is working for your team, what you'd like to see next, or anything that would make Packages more useful for your workflow. If you need any support, drop a comment below and we'll be happy to help!
