We are getting ready to upgrade from 4.4 to 5.1 on Bamboo. We have the same remote agent servers installed on both environments (dev and production). If we run a build against the version 5.1 in Dev it should upgrade the remote agent jar files to 5.1 automatically (per documentation). Will this cause the remote agents to fail when a build is sent to them from the 4.4 Production server (because now they will also have the 5.1 remote agent jar files)?

The agent will downgrade itself when you switch it back to 4.4.
