Hi Atlassian team,

Our MCP is down - is there currently an issue with the MCP servers?

Thanks,

Alex

Hey @Alex Fox Thanks for raising the issue, can you please share more details on what the current config/setup is and the client that you are using? is it OAuth connection? So that would help us triage better, we don't see anything on our end when I did some quick smoke tests.

Thanks Sree, I'm not 100% sure how it was set up as i am not part of the team that work closely with the MCP set up.

I can tell you:

1. We are using Claude
2. We sign in using Microsoft SSO
3. When going through the approval page - it looks like it is using the oauth2 connector
4. Once authorised it will say "connected" and then immediately disconnect.

Is it possible to share some screenshots or a recording of the steps as to what exactly is failing or what the error messages are? So it helps us debug the issue better, seems like a unique case happening for your setup (so we can look deeper and help you with it)

We also have a support process if you would like to create a ticket there with better SLOs.

We are also facing issues connecting the the MCP from Claude. We keep getting the following:

Authorization with the MCP server failed. You can check your credentials and permissions. If this persists, share this reference with support: "ofid_5bcf2e8b590e4aca"

Hey @Paul Biagio thank you, is that happening after consent or during tool calls? Can you also share your MCP Client info as well please

This was during the initial connection setup - it just succeeded for me though but several others on my team have been reporting the same issue. I'm having them try again.

Thanks @Paul Biagio I was not able to reproduce, so was trying to understand where exactly it failed, so we can debug further. Thank you for helping here, please let me know if re-auth helped them.

Also did it start happening recently only?

Started happening this morning. Confirmed by another team member that it works for them again now too.
