So long and thanks for all the fish! 🐠

After much reflection, I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away and fully retire from the Atlassian Community.

Since 2017, this Community has been such a meaningful part of my life. What began as simply volunteering my time quickly became something far more rewarding. I’ve had the privilege of helping others, learning alongside so many talented people, and building friendships that I will genuinely treasure for years to come.

Over the last year, as I’ve continued settling into retirement, I naturally found myself slowing down my engagement. And while this decision wasn’t an easy one, it feels like the right time to close this chapter.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who made this community such a special place. Whether we worked together to solve problems, shared ideas, celebrated successes, or simply connected through conversation, you all helped create an experience that has meant more to me than words can fully express.

One of the greatest gifts of this journey has been the people. The kindness, generosity, humor, and willingness to help others are what made this community truly exceptional. I leave with a heart full of gratitude and so many wonderful memories.

Although I may be stepping away from active participation, I will always look back fondly on my time here and cheer this amazing community on from afar.

Thank you all for allowing me to be part of something so special.

Wishing you all continued success, happiness, and connection in the years ahead.

Cheers,
Jack "Skellington"

Thanks for all greats tips and tricks. You saved me like 42 MD across all Data Centers I managed. If ever met again in future, I owe you another beer! Cheers mate!

Congrats @Jack Brickey Glad you made it out alive. I've been contemplating retirement myself, but since I'll probably have to work a 1/2 day digging my own grave 😁, I don't think it is in the cards anytime soon.

I have welcomed your responses to problems as well. I doubt I cold be as useful to the community but we'll try to carry the flag for you.

Good luck and stop in once in awhile.

It's one of those posts where "Like" and "Give Kudos" somehow doesn't feel right.
On the other hand, I love to join my predecessors and congratulate you to your retirement. I sure hope you'll find a lot of fulfilling and joyful things to do. My dad started baking breads, got an e-bike and drove 30+ miles to the river rhine and back and finally he realized that he loves driving taxi and now covers some day shifts there, having great conversations with his passengers. 😆

I wish you all the best and thanks for everything you did for the community and all of the users you've helped along the way! 🙏

I didn’t have the chance to meet you personally, but what you’ve given to this Community is absolutely amazing.

I still remember my early days browsing through discussions and seeing your name pop up in so many questions and replies. Looking back now and seeing your stats… honestly, mind-blowing is an understatement.

From my perspective, you’ve more than earned that retirement 😅

Enjoy this next chapter, m8 — and thank you again for everything you’ve contributed to the Community!

Jack Skellington, you have made so many meaningful contributions here in Community and touched the lives of others through your kindness and willingness to help. I've always appreciated every time I've gotten a chance to hang out at an event with you and see you around online of course too.

Congratulations on getting into even more retirement activities and having a fun time doing it! Thank you!

I always appreciate a Hitchhikers Guide reference! I have seen your name on many responses to posts over the few years I've been here in the community. Thank you for being so helpful to everyone.

Strange thing: I see that you are a technical writer in Kissimmee, FL. I am a tech writer living in Kissimmee, FL. I also hope to follow you into retirement soon (don't tell my boss; he thinks he's got at least 3 more years).

Enjoy your retirement!
