Link Atlas to Jira Business Projects

Xan Griepenburg February 24, 2025

We are trying to shift more leadership reporting to our Atlas Project Dashboard, but our PMO uses a Jira Business Project to track enterprise wide projects and those Epics do not show up as linkable for Atlas.

Are there plans to integrate Jira Business Projects to Atlas so those can be managed/reported there as well?

Also, will there be any hierarchies added to Atlas? Our PMO is used to using the Program/Project/Epic hierarchy but there only seems to be a 1:1 Atlas project / Jira Software Project epic mapping in Atlas.

What is it you are looking for with the Hierarchy? You can effectively create a project in Atlas/Atlassian Home for anything you like, it can be connected to something in Jira or not, as you wish. When you create a new project, leave the Epic link blank, then once you have the Project created, in the "Where is work tracked" field, you can paste a link to any Jira issue, at any level, it doesn't have to be an Epic and you can sync to that issue.

If you track work somewhere else, you can link to that also.

but can I link Atlas projects to other Atlas projects in the "where is work being tracked"? In the same way you have Program/Project/Epic in other parts of Jira

We link from Atlas projects to Epics in "Team-managed business" projects with no issues.
