Hello Community team,

Currently running, MicrosoftSsoJiraPlugin  V. 1.1.11(Microsoft Plugin).
The SSO sync is not working properly in this case, open for discussions and alternatives.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Mario,

Thanks for sharing the details.

You might want to check out miniOrange's Single Sign-On (SAML SSO) for Jira app, which also includes User Sync & SCIM capabilities. It offers:

  • Seamless SSO with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

  • Automated user provisioning & deprovisioning via SCIM

  • Real-time group and profile sync to keep Jira user data always up to date

Here’s the link for more details: Single Sign On SAML SSO for Jira (SSO SAML) + User Sync/SCIM

Happy to discuss how this could work in your environment or even help you with a quick PoC so you can see the difference first-hand.

Thanks,
Mahima

@Mario Lülle, as far as i know, the Microsoft maintained SSO apps for Jira & Confluence never had a sync when it comes to users. It was always just-in-time-provisioning.

If you have a data center license, then you can simply swap to the native SAML SSO of Jira & Confluence. Feature wise it's a 1:1 replacement. Ignoring the fact, that eventually not the app itself is the problem.

If you want more advanced apps that apart of SSO also give you user provisioning, etc. Then the apps of Kantega, Resolution, miniOrange will do their job.
