X-ray test execution defect

How do I make the resolution field for bug created from a test execution defect creation, I haven't made it mandatory when create issues however when the dialog box pops up for creating defects its a mandatory field, I don't want this as it hasn't been resolved yet .

If I have understood correctly, when you create a bug / defect object, in the create screen, you are being asked already to fill in the resolution, and that is it mandatory?

This sounds like a workflow configuration. Can you please check the workflow for bugs / defects?

This sounds like someone has put a validator on the resolution being filled in to create the bug, which, as you say, isn't correct.
