Hi,
I would like a way to be able to trigger the big picture Teams auto update/assignment logic to allocate a team based on the assignee to an issue.
The feature works when I change the assignee manually, but we have thousands of tickets where there is already an assignee and no team assigned.
It also does not assign a BigPicture team automatically when adding existing tickets to the scope of a box...
Thanks!
Interesting one @Florian G 👀
Are you planning to do a bulk update in Jira or use automation? I haven't tried it myself but you could maybe check with Appfire support (official BigPicture vendor) here to see what they have to say 🤔
They've also moved their official docs to https://support.appfire.com/ - not sure if they have it stated in the docs about this feature. 📖
I have spoken with BigPicture support team, but unfortunately they don't have any solution at this stage.
I'll need to do a bulk edit first to get all our tickets a team assigned, and then I want to set an automation to make sure they are/can be regularly updated as needed.
For example it looks like when an assignee changes team, the team field will not be updated, or when adding new tickets it does not get a team assigned, so I need to find a routine that can do that.
It looks like the Auto-assign routine gets triggered only when the assignee or the parent changes, so even with automation I am not sure how I can trigger it when the assignee and parent are already set and don't need to change...

It does sound tricky :/
I haven't worked with BigPicture for some time now so it would require some experimenting 🧪
If you do find some viable solution, I would appreciate if you would share it here 👀
GL!
